Our policy is that if the lawn has more than 50% leave coverage or the lawn requires to be broadly sprayed, we will skip the service for that day and work with you to reschedule for a time when you will have the leaves cleared. We use a slow release granular fertilizer, so with less than 50% leaf coverage the granules should have no issue getting to the soil and we should still be able to spot areas with weeds. However, if most of the lawn needs to be sprayed with weed control then we will opt to skip the service that day.
If you know you will always have extensive leaf coverage in the fall until they are cleaned up then you can let us know. We will add a scheduling note to call you ahead of service to confirm the lawn is in a good condition to be treated or schedule a window in which we will be able to perform the service.
The fertilization is not negatively impacted by light to mild rain shortly after service. Any water will help release the nitrogen into the soil however, heavy rain could result in run off. The weed control can be impacted by mild to heavy rain within 3 hours of service. Most of the products we use rain harden within 2-3 hours from time of application and have multiple modes of killing the weeds. Damp conditions or a light rain can have a positive effect on the weed control improving the plants ability to absorb the products. Nevertheless, if after 14 days the weed control was not effective then we will come back and do a free service call and retreat the weeds.
We recommend waiting until the next day to mow, this will give the weed control products an opportunity to fully absorb into the target weeds.
We recommend waiting until the next day to water. Same principles apply to rain after service.
We recommend minimizing your pets to the lawn for the first 24 hours and do not allow on the lawn until application is dry. We practice Integrated Pest Management, so over time as we build a healthier lawn together we will be able to further minimize our use of pesticides. However, we do utilize pesticides in our program so we want to minimize any exposure to people and pets it is safe to enter the lawn.
